We are always on the lookout for great talent who share in our passion. If you are interested in a career or internship with Make-A-Wish, check out our current open positions.Â

Managing Our Funds
Make-A-Wish Arizona is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt Arizona corporation. Every dollar our chapter receives aids us in our mission to grant wishes of children with critical illnesses. Our financial statements have been audited annually and past statements are available for review upon request.Â
At Make-A-Wish, our mission is to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Our families and medical professionals share with us that a wish becomes an important part of the healing process, helping children manage, and even overcome, their illnesses.Â
For Fiscal Year 2022 (Sept. 1, 2021 to Aug. 31, 2022), we continued to embrace change as we worked with national and local medical experts like the Centers for Disease Control and the Make-A-Wish America Medical Advisory Council to expand the type of wishes we could offer to wish kids.
National travel once again was offered as a wish opportunity for kids who wished to get out of town, though many wish kids continued to request local wish experiences such as playhouses, playsets, backyard renovations and room renovations. Celebrity wishes were based on the health and wellness of everyone involved -- some in-person and some virtual and shopping spree wishes and gaming computers continued to be an important request for those kids who were immunocompromised and couldn't get out. Â
As the health and safety of our wish kids remain a top priority, our staff works with each wish kid and wish family to create a wish that will bring lasting hope and joy to their lives.Â
Within our Fiscal Year 2021 Audited Financial Statements, two things are amazingly clear:
- You, our donors and supporters have recognized the value of a wish and continue to support us — keeping us in a strong financial position.
- Wishes still bring hope when it is needed most. In fact, more than 540 Arizona kids are working with our staff to plan their wishes today.
Like the world around us, we continue to see an increase in the average cost of a wish. We have also expanded our community outreach and partnership work so that we can be good stewards of your funds, monitor our program ratio, and grow the number of wish kids we reach year-over-year.
Because we know, just as you do as a donor, that the power of a wish is unmeasurable.Â
In Fiscal Year 2023, Make-A-Wish Arizona has budgeted for pre-pandemic wish numbers – 420 wishes. We worked with our medical community to increase referrals and we granted a record-breaking 424 wishes, more than ever before.
Our strong financial position, our dedicated team, our army of volunteers and our board supporters have come together to create the life-changing wishes our Arizona children with critical illnesses that our community has come to expect. And we grant those wishes when our wish kids need it most – right now.Â
We hope that when you look at these audited statements, you don’t focus on percentages but on how many kids we reached. That you focus on the end goal – our vision to grant the wish of every eligible child.
